About the calipers, rear mech and crankset - are they identical to standard Ultegra except for the (grey-) finish? Or is there an advantage in materials as well?

The group comes in at about 80gm lighter. The STIs are more like Dura-ace internaly but not such good materials. Works fine and looks good on the right coloured bike.
  • Thinking of getting this groupset for a new build project but I've read that the ice grey finish scratches easily.

Can anyone confirm whether this is the case?

I was going to go for this but my LBS recommended the silver gruppo which was cheaper given all I'm getting was a different colour and a couple of grames lighter. I'm glad I did cos I'm going to change my frame soon and think the silver would look better on it. Nothing like the glint of a shiny silver chainset 8)

Having said this I saw the new Terk Madone with the new SL and it looked Sweeeet.

I just checked parker international, after Remy Martin pointed it out - There's 9 quid difference between SL and Ultegra gruppos - as listed in this week's Cycling Weekly ad.
Seems like a no brainer at that price uplift.
