Hi

I'm trying to find a cheap B/B to use with my Chorus chainset, I need an Italian thread. What I'm wandering is whether a 107 width will be ok as the normal campag chorus is 102. I notice that the centaur B/B is strictly for centaur cranks and below, these are 111. Do I have to use 102, I'm a bit mystified by it all.

p.s just bought a new Merckx frame to replace planet X, hence the need for Italian.

no you need 102 ...if not chain line & F/d will be misaligned...

Yup, 102mm for Chorus and Record - the crank spider is different and has a different offset to Centaur, Veloce etc.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Well I do have a centaur chainset I could use instead, will a 107 work with that. I ask because probikekit.co.uk have one reduced to £16

    Thanks for all your help

If you use 107 instead of a 102 you add 1/10 of an inch to either side. I doubt you'd feel that Qfactor increase. Going bigger rather than smaller means you have fewer clearance (chainwheels, etc.) issues, so if you've got it, try it.

I've got a Chorus Italian threaded BB sitting at home looking for a purpose in life. I've been intending to ebay it for months but not quite got around to it. It's used, but in very good condition. Make me a decent offer and it' yours.

It's not just a width issue, the chorus and record BBs are offset.

Are you sure? I'd bet my Shamals they're symmetrical, and have been since Chorus & C-Record came into existence.

Please package the Shamals up well. I wouldn't want them to get damaged in the post.
