Forks
HI all,
Two questions.
It looks lie I've bent the steerer on my forks due to not noticing the odd pothole (I add that I mainly ride when it's dark at the moment due to so little daylight at the moment).
They are OEM carbon forks with an alloy steerer.
Im guessing that this is a bit silly to still ride on? Thoguh they have to last me til the end of the month.
Anyway can someone suggest me a decent replacement fork sub £100?, assuming that the road I ride on are not tof the best condition. Ie lots of potholes etc

I doubt they'd work too well with 700C wheels TBH.
I assumed I wouldnt have to state that being in the road section. Also brakesmight be an issue."War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength." George Orwell - 19840 -

I was just thinking that if you've managed to bend a steerer by hitting potholes, you need something designed a bit more for the rough stuff.
You sure you had the fork set up right? It shouldn't have had enough play to be able to bend.
I've hit a car, which has destroyed the front wheel, but the fork didn't get damaged.0 -
I do need to look at it properly, and some of these pothole are about 7inch or more deep, but when its dark and the potholes are full of water its a little hard to see them, so I have to try and remember where they are. Then imagine hitting them and over 20mph.
I did try to take my MTB to work yesterday but that killed as its a 7inch FR bike and theres a lot of climbing.
They are nasty cheap OEM thingy though... (the current forks with seemingly bent steerer)"War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength." George Orwell - 19840 -
