I cycled in the morning with a massive sh!t eating grin the whole way
my bike had been fixed and after 3 days of not cycling at all I got to ride my 'new' steed.

Glad you're back on 2 wheels, also glad it wasn't windy, rain not a problem apart from making the legions of London's myopic morons even worse than usual .
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -

...I bought some waterproof overtrousers last week and used them most days this week...one of the best bits of kit I have bought...I always believed if you were gonna get wet you just learned to live with it...but oh the bliss of arriving at work dry 8)...all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...0

I know the feeling, I was put off waterproofs at first as I found them to not be very breathable but during the colder winter months it's not to much of a problem - unfortunately my bits aren't perfectly waterproof but they do keep me a bit drier and stop the wind getting in! It's not quite so bad during the summer as it tends to be a bit warmer and not so heavy!
Like most people I imagine I'd rather get soaked on the way home then the way to work as I can then just strip off and jump in a warm bath :-)0
