His new bike over on the know how forum makes my Cayo Expert look really dull

Any ideas on how to sex it up a bit? i was thinking about changing the saddle to something, more comfortable, and red!. Decent red bar tape could be added to make it stand out a bit.

What is it about red on road bikes or is it just me

a change of bar tape colour and matching tyres can make a massive difference on a bike

go for blue or yellow or something - see what it works out like - these are consumables anyway so they won't be on for years even if you don't like 'em

    go on...
  • So should I change my bar tape which is currently being held on round the brake levers by electrical tape (of the same colour I hasten to add).

It's a law of nature. Mountain bikes are blue, road bikes are red -sometimes with black, white, silver accents.

Just look at my Virtuoso instead, and it'll make your Cayo look far better!

Though It's really rather dull without the decals. I just need to find some stylish decals now!

I think you're right. It needs something on the frame but not too much. I like the carbon weave. My Focus is similar but it's plastered in decals everywhere :(

Yes Reddraggons' bike is sweet as a button and it probably wouldn't benefit from a set of ruby red balls hanging off the seat but yours might, mine too come to think of it.
Lots of us can't splurge on the latest and greatest but we can add a little bling to our old rides, mine is a 98 Merida, compleatly worn out after 10 seasons,
After 2 months chasing Dura ace parts on ebay around Europe I've fitted new 9 speed shifters (complete with all cables) bottom bracket ,headset, cranks, chainrings, chain, rear cassette and easton wheels complete with vittoria tyres all for £396.00 :P
And I even got new bar tape.
Now to wait for the snow to melt.....
