I'm putting together tour ideas for the spring. I'm looking at the Costa Brava, but my attenion keeps getting distracted by other routes. One being Pisa to Venice (I can get good flights, and the distance is just right for the 7 or 8 days I've got.
Anyone done them? What route did you choose, and how difficult were they?
Also, I hear it can be windy over the other side. Does anyone know the general direction? Is it off the sea? If so, do you think it's better going the other way?

  • Hi

I've crossed Italy - I did it from Livorno to Ancona, after getting the ferry across from Corsica.

The start and finish towns aren't the best places in Italy but I passed through some beautiful scenery and lovely places such as Sienna, Volterra, Lake Trasimeno.

It wasn't windy at all, just lots of sun, sun, sun. Beautiful!
