Rear Thru Axles . Are they worth converting?

Thinking of what upgrades I can apply to my cannondale Prophet 4 rig this year , one possible Mid-life-update is the posability of converting my bike to an all thru axle system to give it more strength during technical trails ,
Currently my rig has a front maxle on its front wheel and my rear is QR .
The conversion will cost £270 for a new rear prophet swingarm and £199 for the right wheelset

Currently I use hope dt 5.1s which are way lighter
Does anyone think this conversion is worth the money in terms of performance and durability benefits or should i just stick to
a qr rear and thru axle front?

why noy just change the axel on the hops to a Nutted or bolted axel? will save you a few 100 notes and still give a stiffer rear."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Will that still involve me getting a swingarm then? Thought wheel re-building would cost more than buying a new rear wheel or am i wrong?Specialized Camber

No. Just a new axle, that uses nuts rather than a QR to secure it.0

just a new axle? On your bike in london bridge said I must have a new swingarm cause the adaptor at the rear is shaped differently . or are they trying to leech more money off me?Specialized Camber

Thru axles are differnt to nutted axles, and a thru axle rear will require a new swingarm. But this is differenet. I am pretty sure that Nick and I are correct in this, but I will check to be on the safe safe! Give me a day, I have had a few beers tonight lol0

similar, but you can also get saint/hone rear mech compatible axles."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
