On the way to work today I suddenly saw a body and bike bouncing on the road.
The cyclist had just gone past a T-Junction and was sent flying. I didn't see the impact as I never noticed the boy until he was hitting the deck. He pretty much bounced straight back up onto his feet though an dentered a discussion with the driver.
I was away to stop and offer to be a witness until I realised that he was dark and unlit, was facing oncoming traffic and had just bounced off a kerb straight in front of a car that hadn't even made it to the white lines. I reckon the driver hadn't had a chance - but then I couldn't have said either way (so not much use as a witness). Good job there was a break in the traffic mind, or he'd have been in a bad way, and probably a good job the car was coming to a halt too.
Not a site I'd like to see again though.
