Fitting New Tyres

Just fitted some Bontrager Mud X's onto my I-Drive when I spin the wheels they look as though they are fitted unevenly. Could this just be an uneven tread as I'm sure they are fitted correctly inside the rims..

Hi JonesyBoy
Have you tried using a 'little' soapy solution and over inflating them, then deflating them back to the req'd pressure?
You are supposed to over inflate tyres when fitting then adjust to correct pressure afterwards, this helps to ensure they are correctly seated on the rims.
Hope this helps?www.27gears.com

Sorry for the late reply
I mean do not soak the inside of the tyre with soapy water, just enough to make the bead of the tyre slippery, if poss use your fingers to rub a little water/soap around that, way you wont get any inside the tyre.
It is said that the rolling resistance of the tyre can be increased if the tube cannot move inside the tyre (I read this in one of the Mags, not my discovery) therefore I reckon water inside the tyre will cause the tube to have no free movement as it will cause friction/ drag, it is recommended to use talc powder inside ( again from the Mag ) to allow the tube to move around inside the tyres carcass. How much rolling resistance a non moving tube would cause, I have no idea?
I run tubeless so getting the bead of the tyre seated correctly is my only concern, Luckily!

What I do is to push down on the wheel with the new tyre on deflated and roll it a couple of rotations, always seems to make sure the tyres seated..there's nothing worse than it unseating whilst pumping it up...the inner tube pops out and begins expanding - you get about 2 seconds to cover your ears before it wakes everyone upBrought to you by:
