After the pre-Christmas chaos followed by a few weeks away from the damp recesses of Cheshire I found myself at the back room of my house. In this room is a very bizarre contraption. It appears to have two "wheels", joined up in some fashion, with tubes and such. It is the levers and some sort of "saddle" which confuses me. Could someone please tell me what this odd object is and what one is supposed to do with it? I am grateful for you assistance.

p.s. my wife believes it could be evil

...take it outside, stand astride the contraption, you may find it has pedals. Push off, put feet on pedals, turn pedals thus creating forward motion, sit on saddle, balance and away you go. It's called a bicycle, it is not evil. If you are fat ,riding it will make you thin. They should be available on perscription in my opinion...

No idea but I expect for a small fee someone will come along and dispose of it for you....

ChrisLS - Your prescription comment has just reminded me of how I got rid of the Asthma I had when I was I kid. I got a bike and rode it every day and hay presto, it cleared up.
    It's all good.

Bikes are only evil when you realise... too late... that "just 1 more" is never enough

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!

I too have this red aluminium tubing in my utility room. I definitely recognise the two big round things as wheels but the rest baffles me. Something tells me I put the wheels on the tubing and it is some sort of human powered locomotive.

  • Yes! Yes! Indeed, it is all coming back to me now. The "clipless/casualty" incident. The "it's me or the bike" argument. Oh the obsession, the obsession, the obsession...

I think the next step after you've identified the object is to go onto the internet and spend large sums of money.

    Hope this helps.

So true - as soon as I got mt student loan I blew/invested the entire sum on a new bike. Explaining to the parents why I need three bikes and can't afford all my textbooks wasn't the easiest thing, but I stand by my decision.

yes, well i will no doubt suffer an eternity of nagging for spending large amounts of cash on just one more bike as my good lady pointed out its not as if you can ride the two at once. i am willing to at least try
