If this turns out to be true I suspect it will be the end of Rabobank as they have a zero tolerance policy

  • Apparently this is linked to the Viennese laboratory that CyclingfanAnonymous was on about the other day (teams and riders would route travel plans through Vienna, miss the connecting flight and then have enough time to visit a clinc in the city).

Two thirds of the athletes are elite-level Germans apparently (it mentions alot of biathletes and skiers), but former Gerolsteiner (and Telekom) climber Georg Totschnig is mentioned (he's denied any involvement, but then again you probably would wouldn't you!).

Rasmussen's name is also linked in one of those articles, but that could just be a "oh one Rabobank riders allegdly involved, so we might as well stick the Chicken's name down too".

There's the link to CA running the story on Sunday.

Also from CA here's two links to the story in English:

Latter of those links Michael Boogerd's name too :(

Shame if Boogard is involved, but being hepped up on goofballs would explain why he's always smiling.
You just have to ride like you never have to breathe again.

I hope not. Rabobank sponser cycling from youth level upwards in Holland, would be a shame if the pro team management/riders messed it up for the entire set up.

You don't think the bank is culpable at all?. They've been in the sport long enough to have a damn good idea of what is going on and have had plenty of time to do something about it surely?

I hope they do stay but if they do quit and explain it away about bad publicity then my thoughts would be along the lines of 'hoisted by their own petard'.
