Anyone bought one of these? Looks good for £999.99. Problem is wiggle.co.uk are the only company selling them, and not sure about paying that much money without seeing it in the flesh.

Thanks for any info.

I think they offer some scheme where you can try before you buy - they post it out to you!

Amazing spec - very XC though.

I was looking at one of these before I blew my budget out of the water...

My only concern was whether the linkages in the rear are bushings or cartridge bearings - the latter is much preferable.

My gut feeling is that everyone is thinking about one of these, no one has bought one yet - but once it's reviewed or someone tries one, if it's any good it'll be one of the hit bikes of the year I think at that price!

All the Focus ones seem to be doing well, the fat Boy recently got best on test at 450 quid/ Undoubtedly helped by cutting out the middle man. Evans Pinnacle range, and CRCs BeOne just cant compete on spec terms - only Merlin can it seems.

i have been looking at these also, torn between the unknown and evans cycles are offering a specialized fsr xc pro for £999 as well, what a dilema, be brave and may pay dividends or play safe and never know until mbuk review both and you find you made a big mistake what to do.....

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
  • I've heard they will be in stock March 2008. But that was a should be in.

Shame as it looks like great bike for the price.

I'm looking at getting the Super Bud as i've been steared away from the Specialized fsr xc pro...

What's wrong with the FSR XC? Apart from the slightly lardy comp they're very good bikes. The expert narrowly lost out in WMBs £1000 full susser test...

The super bud looks a bargain but good luck getting one
  • I'm tall fella and alot of people have told me the riding position would kill me, also if i was to go for a specialized i'm been told the Stumper Jumper will cope with my size alot easier than the FSR XC? The frame is stronger, i'm not saying that the FSR XC wont cope...

Since i've looked more into bike's within budget you can get more for the money...

I'm just checking out web site in Austria - so fingers crossed...

I just got one by the skin of my teath, and god did it take some time.

From October to 1 week ago.

And lots of messing around by wiggle, but if you can wait or if you can buy somewere else, do it as you will not beat the spec and its light as hell

about 26lbs once the pedals are switched.

If you put the same spec on a Trek or GT how much do you think you would pay, Thats what you need to ask yourself.
  • I've found a place in austria who are happy to ship over to the UK.

Good price as well, so i'm just waiting to see if thay my size in stock...

    You will not be sorry

Let me tell you about the bike as its totally different to UK or Canadian Bikes I have riddin

    1. It almost feels as you are sitting up straight on the bike not sort of leaning back, so if you are really tall, might cause a back infuncktion.

    2. OMG its so so light, if the same spec was on a trek ect. you would be looking at 1500 plus.

    3. I had a hard time insuring the bike through the AA, as I needed to insure for more than I bought it for, as could not buy another after the sh&t I went through. but got there in the end

    4. It rides Like a dream, The brakes AT FIRST were crap, but I have done some hard braking over the past couple weeks, and I almost fell over the handle bars, god Magura what do you put in these things.

    YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY,

Oh also all brake cables come with kevlar coated plastic protectors, so no rubbing, and not easy to break.
  • Bull Cross, how did you pay? Cash Transfer or Credit Card?

    Good Lad... I jealous...

  • they said it will be only a few days after payment is recived
    lets see lol

  • If read some where on here that the saddle might chop us in half... Which i'm looking forward to.

It's a shame that Bike & Sports AT don't have a larger exposure in the UK cause they would make a killing selling Focus Bikes.

To those who read this and may be interested in getting a 2008 Focus bike have look or getting contact with the guys at Bike & Sports in Austria at www.bikesandsports.at

    I will recommend any day.

Hope you guys are happy with the bike.

Mine still doing great, But yeh the seat is murder, after a day of riding it feels like you were the only drunk straight guy at a gay parade, you know what im saying... LOL

Not like I know how that would feel but I can imagine after my ass being on that seat for 10 miles a day, everyday.

But dont want to upgrade yet, as it looks sweet, and it is light as..
