Upgrade or new? (eventually)

I recently bought a new Carrera Vulcan 06 in the sales for £200 which I am really pleased with. As a road / XC bike it’s perfect yet after doing some downhill technical stuff I am starting to think that the 22” frame (only one available but I am tall) is too big for that particular task.
The other components of the bike seem to be up to scratch for my level of riding, so would it be viable to change to frame or would I be better off just selling and buying a more specialized full bike if and when my level of riding increases? It’s early days and I will probably get a few more months in before I decide to fork out any cash, just thought I’d ask some more experienced riders.
Cheers in advance.

It is an XC bike, or for trail work, and not a DH bike. The components will not be able to stand repeated abuse! I'd have to say new bike. As good as the Vulcan is, something a bit more suited to the casue will serve you better in the long run.0

Guess I'll just take it easy on the down hill stuff for now and save my pennies.
