2006 Kraken New Headset!

Apologies for asking another headset question straight after LUGSEY but I'm also in the market for a replacement headset for my 2006 Kraken. However I'm not to well up on the subject.
The existing one on my bike appear to be a cartridge system that actually sits within the headtube where you can't see it from the outside. I believe there is a circlip that need to be removed which will allow me to then remove the cartridge itself.
Does anyone have any experience of this? and
Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement and upgrade?

Your best bet would be to contact halfords. I think they switched the headset type in 2006.0
