Its all a matter of travel, I ride a specialized epic with just under 4 inches of travel and a brain. Its an excellent bike and i can really pedal hard when i need too as the brain works so well, uphill I seem to lose my mates. On the other hand I do like to ride it hard all the time and especially down hills and long trails but my rear shock seems to be bottoming out!!! Now i need to know a} should this do this? is it set up right ? { I am about 12 stone} B } should i get something with more travel and if so what ? as i still want something that wont suck up my pedal power!!

Hope that makes sense .......your views and help please....

More air pressure? Try setting the fork up with 25% sag. If you are finding that you are having to reduce sag much less than this, and small and medium bump response is compromised yet you are still bottoming, it may well be the bike is not enough for your riding!
  • I ride an s works epic and i'm 19 stone and it handles everything i throw at it! done cwmcarn today and it was soaking up evrything! Increase the pressure by 5 PSI increments till your happy with it!
