im going to be buying an ipod shorty and am looking at changing he headphones as they dont look like theyll be suitable for cycling.

what ones does everyone use. im not looking to spend a small fortune on them. ive been looking at the ones that clip round your ears but i tend to wear glasses while cycling and cant tell wether theyll get in the way.

cheers

Personally i would NEVER wear headphones/listen to music while riding my bike.

I want all my senses alert so i can hear for traffic from all sides.

I use pretty cheap Sony ones, dont fall out, sound good for the price & don't isolate you from other sounds.

  • I use my iPod whilst riding all the time to help with my motivation whether mountain biking or road traing or on my indoor turbo trainer.

I ditched the absolute pile of crap headphones that Apple supplies straight away. Not only do they sound very poor but the frequency that they use is alleged to cause damage to your hearing over a prolonged period.

    I use
    these:

They have a fantastic sound and the base is amazing on them. They also come with three different sized ear fittings and have never fallen out whilst riding. A bit expensive but worth every penny IMO

    Hi there.

The original poster never mentioned where he was riding! Maybe there aren't any off-road trails in NWLondon?

For off-road riding, turbo-training and running I've had great success with the earphones that came with my Sony walkman phone. They're an inside-your ear design with a selection of wee rubber buds that compress slightly to fit perfectly in your ear. No wind noise at all.

They're also pretty handy at work for ignoring the cr4p banter eminating from my cow-orkers.

    Cheers, Andy
  • must admit im going to be using them on the road for commuting. i used to do it all the time and have never felt ive been at risk by not being able to hear. im quite observative when im on the road and i never have it up that loud anyway.

i had the sony ones your talking about but lost them with my old MP3 player. didnt get on all that well with them tbh. the buds kept falling out. i tried all the sizes aswell and none suited my ears.

I use Sennheiser CX300 (i think) in-ear plugs (left ear only when on a bike) and they are so much better than those with came with my Nano.

I've looked at the Bose in-ear 'phones and I'm really tempted, just not sure I can justify £70 for plugs.
