What polish to use on a carbon framed MTB?

My giant XTC has a carbon frame, and the top tube is a little dull, possibly due to my waterproof trousers rubbing on it. I'd like to get it Shiney again, if only for that bling black carbon look ;)

Are there any types of polish I should avoid using on it? I was going to use a light motobike polish (similar to furniture polish) that comes in a spray can.

Cheers,

Tim

All carbon frames are lacquered to protect the weave, so you need something that will work well on lacquer.

As all mettallic cars are lacquered any decent car wax/polish will do, I personally use meguairs nxt on my stumpy HT, only as I had a load left over when I sold my Evo VIII

Turtle Wax Black car polish is ace on naked (not painted) carbon, it brings it up mega shiney.

I used ot use it on my EG civic that had multiple cabon body parts and it looked mega shiney in the sun, a bit like this

If you're feeling proper clean freak you can, once the black polish is buffed properly use some Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection

It forms a really toughtop coat that dirt and water literally slides off :D
