Just popped in to Halfrauds near work and picked up a couple of bargains.

1. A set of Shimano M536 pedals for a fiver :D
2. A Toppeak DX 16 multi-tool for a quid

Nearly bought a set of Shimano Deore Mega 9 shifters complete with cables and everything for a fiver too!!

The Bargain Bucket I'd imagine! I love that thing - shame it's usually filled with BMX stuff in my local Halfords.

It was a on a small stand with mainly Shimano road bits, the multi-tool was in a basket hidden by glittery kids bar end thingies and spider man water bottles :D

Good stuff! I used to have to price up spare stock for the sales bins - managers didnt have a clue, so would put it on for peanuts! Then buy it hehe

  • some good bargains at the moment, Carbon seat post for £20, sunglasses going cheap, Nokian gazza tyres for £6 I think. Also I bagged a set of Formula ORO Puro brakes from Merlin cycles for £206 couple weeks back! If you keep an eye out and be patient there are many bargains to be found!

Panaracer Fire XC Pro's for free!!! Guy opposite where I work didn't like them so threw them in his skip. Bit pikey I know but hell they'd hardly been used.

See, Halfords aren't just there for the nasty things in life - like Shockwave bikes and silly alloy rims!

I picked up a set of 661 elbow pads reduced to £9 there last year, which actually cost me £5 when you factor in the bike-to-work discount I was getting on them too.

  • Have to admit to picking up a few bargains on Chain reaction recently too.

Got a nice new Titec bar and stem pair for 50% off. I'm a sucker for looking down the discount column before even checking the make and model. If it's not 40%+ discount it's not worth having! Whether the thing's been for sale anything near the RRP in recent memory though is another matter...
