hi all.
got a fair bit of money burning a hole in my pocket, so am thinking of upgrading my forks. i have Tora 302's (100mm travel) at the moment, and am thinking of one of these as an option;

Tora U-Turn's; http://chainreactioncycles.com/Models.a ... elID=13113
MX Supercomp ('08); http://chainreactioncycles.com/Models.a ... elID=21563

my frame is a GT agressor and is warrantied for a 130mm travel fork (max). bearing in mind i am buying other new parts, so dont want to spend too much, what would you recommend and why?
cheers.

    Neither represent a worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

    I would not get either of those, the forks your have currently are one of the best budget forks around, and tora's are quite flexy when run at 130mm. I would suggest waiting until you can afford to spend a little more on the forks, maybe get the rest of your upgrades but leave forks for a moment. I'd recommend revelations or recons for your gt as then you'll get an inherently better fork as opposed to buying a new set of tora's as that is more of a sideways -grade than an up or down one.

    Agreed, save the money and start a fund for a better pair of forks or bike upgrade in time.

    And if you really want a new fork, consider a 2nd hand one instead.

    What's your budget? You can probably get something significantly better for £100 - £150 secondhand.
  • yeh, thats about my budget.
    thanks for all the suggestions by the way!

    I'd say the Tora is one of the stiffest 130mm forks about, due to the steel stanchions. Stiffer than a Revelation (though quite a bit heavier!). 318 Uturn would be a better upgrade due to the motion control internals and lighter weight, but for a bigger step, then the Recon.
