Carbon Frames, 12k, 4k

Ive been looking at the tempting ribble carbon offers.

Anyone know what the difference between the 12k nero corsa and the 4k scuro is. I know there are obvious shape differences between the frames but what do the 12k and 4k mean?

Is it youngs modulus of the fibres?

If so, is 4k stiff enough?

The scuro is lighter than the nero corsa. The scuro is also more expensive.

The Scuro should be a better frame therefore.

4k and 12k just refers to the weave pattern of the carbon fibre. Everything else being equal, the weave pattern does not determine much.
  • Thanks, I didnt have a clue what it meant

The scuro corsa looks like a god damn sexy frame. If only I had the money to buy one instead of waiting for my sodding HR department to sort out the bike to work scheme!
    It's all good.
