what do you guys do on the road with a full susser do you ride as is or do you lock your rear shock or even lockout front as well. and what will happen to the rear shock if it is locked out and i hit a big pothole in the road.

also how do i set up height of the saddle do i do it sitting on the bike with the sag of the shock or lock it out first.
as you can tell im a complete full suss newb

I lock out my rear shock on road and on very smooth jeep track climbs, I seldom lock out the front though.
Setting the saddle height is not dependent on the shock setting, you can do it either way.

The shock will have a certain amount of give in it even when locked out to protect the internals, as will the forks.

My gf always locks both out on the road and i lock out the fork on my hardtail. I find it gives a more direct feel to the bike when you're climbing hills.

Good forks and shocks have a blowout threshold, after which the the lockout gives way and allows the suspension to kick in to avoid damaging the internal mechanism
