Halfords is backing a new British "pro" team. Let's hope the racing is better than the launch ceremony, which was stopped by the police:

well...20 years after ANC Halfords...they're back. Possibly because of Chris Boardman's help? I don't have a huge amount of time for them-they've avoided cycling for so long in terms of sponsorhsip when their was obvious interest and a need for a company like them....perhaps better late than never I guess though..a bit like Raleigh. Raleigh should have been promoting a British team abroad , not the odd MTB team at home and very small time outfits in the 90s...they pulled out of Raleigh Banana quick too...and yet they were sponsoring Systeme U in 89 and pre that, TI Raleigh. They should have been more patriotic IMO.

We need to get behind this team guys. Nicole Cooke is one of the finest talents we have in sport, bar none. Our track team have also shown that done properly, we can put together a set of world beaters. Hats of to Dave Brailsford, Chris Boardman and Halfords for putting their reputations on the line.

I would not be to harsh on Raleigh as they have had a pretty rough time of things
