You'll shiver more = using more energy.0

dont I feel like the daft one right now lol.... I dont think that would work for me.. I'd put another jumper on lol... then again maybe i'll lose more weight by carrying the extra weight0
-
my best tip?
dedicate your blog to achieving your resolution. then send link to a few friends - hot women too. Humiliating if you fail!

On that point. Don't take a coat with you on nights out.
LoL ... Surely if you're trying to lose weight, the better option would to be not to go on the night out?0 -
This shivering thing, a good idea, you'll save money on your heating bill which you can spend on that nice new jersy when you've lost all that weight
I've given up drinking but not strictly as a new year thing. Afriend started it. I drunkenly agreed to 80 days of being sober. I'm 15 days, 18hrs and 10 mins in.... :?

Try different types of training instead of just riding a bike.
Running, swimming are good. Even walking will burn fat, if you do it long enough.
But light weight training will burn calories too.
And remember, improving your core stability will improve your riding.0 -
keep 'em coming...
not sure about the no heating thing either...i eat more when i'm cold! If i sat in Vietnam in 90% humidity for 6 months ids eat less than i do in the cold of the north of England!

and higher heating would make you want to drink more water - a key for success in weight loss
Guess that could go both ways. Be economical and turn the heating off, or turn your house into a sauna lol.0 -
LOL all these tips no doubt are fun, but do any of you have any 'serious' ideas for weight loss...?0
-
P.S. maybe i should have started a blog on women in lycra shorts, as that seems to be the busiest item here LOL! Maybe you're all super fit trying to catch up to them?0

I stopped smoking after new year. It wasn't really a resolution or anything, more of a promise I made to myself to stop before I reach 30 (which seems to have snuck up on me...3 months to go!)
So....
The first couple of days were not nearly as bad as I told myself they would be.
Cravings litterally only last 3 minutes.
Chewing gum helps with that.
Smelling other smokers as soon as they walk into room has been an eye opener.
Don't think of it as giving up. Stopping smoking means you gain a hell of a lot more than you lose.
One thing that came as a bit of a surprise though....... After the first couple of days, I started to get this sad feeling like i had left behind an old friend. Weird. Thats well and truly gone now.
So after just a couple of weeks of no bifs (i didn't bother with the nrp patches etc), now im not really thinking about it at all.
I do however realise that it is still early days, but I suppose its the same as every other effort.
Break a big goal into smaller more acheivable goals and reward for hitting them. (in the case of the ole bifs, its quite easy as i have some extra cash to spend on myself)Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.

i stopped smoking about 5 years ago - remember you've stopped, not given up! Giving up implies that you'll miss it. A good trick is to save the amount of cash you spent on fags and put it in a new bike fund...it's amazing how much you'll raise!
Keep it up.0
