hi folks.
thinking about treating myself to a nice shiny new set of deep section wheels... budget is kinda up to about 1k or so... although under that is a bonus. currently looking at corima aero, zipp 303/404 or maybe planet x?

anyone any thoughts on this? are the zipps substantially better than the corima's? and in turn would the corima's be better than the px's?

bike is a tcr composite 2 in once team colours... so wheels have to match obviously!! :D:D

thanks

marty

mmm I've noticed these as well but there seems to be a lack of info about them. Anyone got any experience?

henderson_mk - you may want to add HED Jet/Stingers to your list as well as ITM's K-Sword 38 Wheelset. Are you after Clinchers or Tubs?
  • i actually have a set of hed jet 50s (shimano) on my other bike :)

these ones need to be campag.... to be honest... i'm a bit scared of tubs... but the weight weenie in me is kinda leaning towards them as I'm *probably* only gonna use them for racing and for the occaisonal training ride where I want the bike to look pimpin' :D

i think the dalkia's are on sale somewhere... but I can't remember where! although they're quite heavy by the look of it.

I have a set of Zipp 404s and I like 'em because they handle a lot better than normal deep section wheels. They're also light (1200g/pair).

im in the same situation, ive looked at the dalkiia's, but am not sure!

theres hardly any info at all!

the zipp 404's are a bit too expensive for me, and am currently looking at the Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL premium wheelset, at just under 800 quid!
    have you seen them?

also, what are your HED wheels like?

    thanks

  • the hed's are a seriously good wheel for the money.
the 50's are lighter and cheaper than the cosmic and i'd definitely recommend them.

i think i'm trying to keep it weight wise under 1400grams or so.
