When Your Bike Becomes Part of You...

So, I get this little creak coming from below me, and it got a bit worse the next ride, and a bit worse the next.

I continued riding though, but realised I didn't really enjoy it as much, was feeling tired, and the noise annoyed me.

I reset all the nuts on and around my saddle this morning.

Still creaking.

Stopped outside Buckingham Palace tonight and after some investigation found that the two bolts on my left pedal arm were a bit loose.

Tightend them up and bang, the creak was gone.

Now I know that the creaking had no effect whatsoever on my ability to propel my bike forward, there was no looseness there, but I still felt like it was running smoother, and I whizzed home.

So if your bike creaks, or makes a noise (and there are lots out there that do) sort it out and at least feel a bit better!

...a squeak or creak or annoying noise on your bike can really sap your energy where as a well running bike boosts your performance... :D

I think it just adds confidence to know everything is running perfectly and you can rely on it to get you through the ride problem free.

A creak turns on the warning signals and makes you lose that confidence in your bike.
