Songs for a bike build?

When I finally have everything I need to start the job I'm thinking of doing a time elapse video showing my bike being built up from scratch. Obviously I'll need an appropriate soundtrack for the piece....got any ideas?
So far I have on my shortlist....
Isn't she Lovely - Stevie Wonder (I didn't say they had to be good songs!)
Jesus Built My Hotrod - Ministry
or, as cruelly suggested by a friend...
I Started Something I Couldn't Finish - The Smiths

Bike - Pink Floyd (tacky, I know)
More a reflection on my mechanical skills than your project, but I have to confess the first thing that sprang to mind was Falling to Pieces - Faith No More....0 -
JBMH is an awesome tune
The beginning and the end by Isis
Juggernaut of Metal by Lair of the Minotaur
Bicycle by Masters of Reality
The Mechanical Bride by Melvins
maybe for later Crosstown traffic by Hendrix?
Freedom Run by Kyuss
Freebird by Skynyrd
that'll do for nowPurveyor of sonic doom
Very Hairy Roadie - FCN 4
Fixed Pista- FCN 5
Beared Bromptonite - FCN 140 -
Yes! Good stuff so far!0

Is it an "improvement"? "If Six Was Nine", Hendrix?
"Wheels On Fire"? "Start A Revolution" (wheels, round etc)? "The Wheels on the Bike Go Round and Round" (oh, alright, BUS!)? What colour is it? "Silver Machine"?
I'll give up now...d.j.

Unfortunately Silver Machine is out as its black and blue, would have been perfect though!0

Perfect if you re converting a 26" to 29er.....We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

In The Year - Echobelly
In the year when your bicycle broke,
You were crying in the yard,
But the world was a glorious game,
New adventures stole your heart.....0 -
"One piece at a time" by Johnny Cash
#I'd build it one piece at a time
And it wouldn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is around#road0 -
On The Road Again - penult shot.
Wasn't Born To Follow - as you pedal off into the dawn/sunset (to choice)..d.j.

What - no Queen????
Obviously "Bicycle," - but you could alsohave "Don't stop me now" whilst working on the brakes.
And the obligatory "Tour de France" by Kraftwerk, and maybe "Come Together" by one of the numerous artists available for when you have a big pile of bits at the start.
"If i had an 'ammer" by Handy Andy when it all goes tits up!Has the head wind picked up or the tail wind dropped off???0 -
i'd go for a more mellow toonage for bike build, Pedal Pusher - by the Sterephonics, any toons by Jack Johnsonbut if any fiddly bits got me  then couple cups of espresso then beating a dead horse by guns and roses."the toe is the achilles' heel of the foot."
Ron Jaworski, Sky Sports0 -
Bloody hell Heavymental, you mention the other day that you hate hippies, then you bring up Stevie Wonder and Ministry; we may get on!
I'd suggest something in between the two, and the first reply of FNM probably fits that bill, but personally I'd go for Epic. 8)Wheelies ARE cool.
Zaskar X0 -
well, my pessimistic suggestion of FNM came from the fact that I was thinking about last night's task of replacing brake blocks and cables and readjusting everything. By the time I'd finished, I'd skipped on a couple of albums to "Last Cup of Sorrow" :oops:0

Hmm...on the FNM theme....I Started a Joke!?
Course there's Build me Up Buttercup...or b..b..b..b Build by the Beatiful South.0 -
Queen is the obvious choice.
Apart from that:
Kraftwerk - something from Tour de France, maybe:

Or of course:
Pink Floyd - Money
(Oops - just noticed someone already suggested the Krafterk!)0 -
..."Here come old flat top..." Come Together, The Beatles...
Heavy have you seen the cycling music feature in the new Cycling Plus?...all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...0 -
Anything by Rolf Harris
Whose catchphrase was............?
"D'you know what it is yet?"
OK, I was leaving anyway............... :oops:Where the neon madmen climb0 -
Not seen that Chris. Don't usually buy the mag but will have a peek in this months if I see it.
Think I may just end up going for a bit of electronica that fits the bill. I'm not a fan of Kraftwek but guess I should consider that tune with the bike sounds in it. Is that Tour De France?0 -
Bargain by The Who
Iron Horse-Motorhead 8)
Mighty Wings-Cheap Trick
The Passenger-Iggy Pop
Highway to Hell-AC/DC  :P"With just a little luck
A little cold blue steel
I'll cut the night like a razor blade
Till I feel the way I wanna feel"

Deodato - 2001 A Space Odyssey (music here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AQtDHnVNys )
It buillds nicely to a climax, final shot of you riding off into the sunrise.
You could even pay homage to Kubrik by cutting from an opening shot of apes fiddling about with bones to you attaching components together in the workshop.0 -
Lol...Ricadus! Yes...I like it!0
