Have just purchased a second hand bike it has come with tubs how easy are these to repair if punctured while out riding

  • they're not :)
i think you need to check if it has some of the sealant stuff in the tub. alternately carry an old tub and a co2 cartridge.

  • they aren't easy to repair.

Always take at least one spare tube and a tube of slime, and enough bus fare
Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.

If you are not going to race, put the sprints up for sale and get some clinchers. For non-competative riding tubs are a pain in the rectum.

Not easy to repair would would be an understatement, even at home.
Abandon all hope, those who would try to repair them on the road.
Carry at least one spare and some sort of "Slime". Two flats in a day
isn't real common but the minute you aren't prepared it will happen.
If you really want to run tubies there are a few companies who will
put a new tube in and sew them back up. Our bike racing club stores up
our flat tubies and sends them to be repaired, kind of "in bulk".
