folks
i would value your opinion
i wish to buy a new road bike for fitness and enjoyment
i currently do 50mins twice per week on a mountain bike with smooth wheels
i am aware it is like going from a tractor to a porche so i want to get it right
budget £ 1000
i am also thinking of buying a heart monitor so i don't get fed up and tired in 1-2 mths time
are these as good as they say
many thanks

Try the following:
Focus Cayo/Variado on Wiggle
Planet X bikes
All well thought of in general and on this forum. Cayo and Planet X = carbon fibre frames for £1K,- 2023 Vielo V+1
- 2022 Canyon Aeroad CFR
- 2020 Canyon Ultimate CF SLX
- Strava
- On the Strand
- Crown Stables

This thread should help you with a few suggestions.
Assuming you get a nice bike...which you will for 1k...and find some nice enjoyable routes in your locality, you shouldn't need a heart monitor. Unless you're the type that really needs stats then a decent speedo/odometer and you're flash new bike should ensure you don't get bored.0 -
i'd add the ribble special edition ultegra carbon bike to your list for consideration - this prce is just as part of their january sale:
