Shra powerlink

Hello People,
After arsing about with cleaning my chain on the bike for years, I've decided to get a powerlink for my new bike. Having looking into the posts on the forum I came to the conclusion that i would try to fit on to my XTR chain expecting it to be a bit of a struggle and maybe have to put shimano pins in it.
I was supprised to find that it went in very easily and didn't even need a chain tool. Is this normal or is my chain gonna fall off 30 miles from home.

If you are, then the answer is yes, it is that easy.
But if the chain was on your bike already, then you must have used a chain splitter to get it off before you could used the Powerlink to rejoin it.
People seem to have real trouble fitting them to shimano chains.
