I'm not sure if I dare watch it.
  • I wasn't sure either. It should be interesting but can't see us coming out of it very well under the present climate about us.Lets hope its not presented By Clarkson,Havers,Parris,or Carol Malone or where on a hiding to nothing

Clarkson has thought his own stupidity had £500 quid paid to a charity who part pays for the work I do by someone else setting up a Direct debit on his account :-D

    Seemed quite fair on cyclists.

I didn't know there was a study saying red light jumping was safer (although always thought it). Anyone got a link for that?
  • well, that report apparently said that Women are at greater risk because they obay the law... Separately, because I didn't know about this progrmme at the time, I bought home the Metro tonight because I read about a woman who has been killed by a car whilst at the side of the road in Trowbridge Wiltshire. A male cyclist has been injured too.

It was horrible to hear about the girl killed by a cement truck. I've meen knocked over by cars at lights and can now only think myself lucky.

  • I loved that nutter:

"How can my kids cycle to school with all these 4x4s?!?"

Said from the driver's seat of his Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Not as biased as I expected, what with it being on BBC1.

Didn't like seeing the pink sawdust under that cement truck though. :(
That will certainly keep me awake on my commute to work tomorrow.
    Wheelies ARE cool.

  • Had to laugh at Clarkson :D
On the programme it was alarming to see the ammount of idiots crashing red lights.Pity the police didn't catch more of them. The moron who was the courier should be fined heavily and more like him the same treatment.
Its also alarming to see the blatant disregard for cyclist's by vehicles turning left, and my heart wen't out for the young girls family. How on earth could they not prosecute the wagon driver as the cctv showed the wagon behind her at the begining of the clip.
Im all for prosecuting people by CCTV camera evidence who break the law,and to prosecute cyclists who crash lights this could be quite hard though.
We are a nation who has to be in the fast lane of life too much.

    .

It was really sad wasn't it? I went to bed feeling really uneasy. You're right, he was behind her at the start of the clip so he should have seen her - she didn't do anything wrong at all.

After watching, I felt that I wanted to do something more to help - don't know what though. To start with, I'm going to fill out this petition for cyclist friendly lorries, mentioned in cycling plus this month: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/HGV-mirrors/
I've also got to get a move on now because I'm going to try walking 4 kids to school this morning (3 under age of 5 so tricky to get 'em all ready on time).

The trick is to give yourself an extra half hour.

yes, and not to post on an internet forum when you should be doing jobs
Made it on time but got soaked. My baby had to wait for breakfast til we got back. She wakes up late - a good thing, a very good thing.
