With my birthday and christmas now past, it is time to buy a new bike...
I have £1300 now or i can probably have at a push £1800, I'd like a hardtail for AM/light freeride. I've been looking at the cove stiffee and on-one 456 both built up by me. The kit i've pretty much decided on is:
Pike 454 air u-turn
Merlin 719 on proII
Hope mono mini

and then decent quality finishing kit.
I have found nothing but glowing reviews of both of these. However, are they both strong enough? How well do they climb? Are they tough enough (mainly for the on-one!). I generally prefer flickable slightly smaller frames so I'd be looking at 17.5" stiffee and an 18" 456.
