Hello,
Current thrash is an 04 Trek 8500 running an 80mm Magura Ronin fork which is lovely.
New frame coming (thanks to US ebay) is a Trek Fuel 98 Carbon.
New frame takes an 80mm fork, so thought was to swap the magura onto this.
However, advice needed as to whether it's a better idea to buy a new / better 80mm fork for the FS bike or a cheaper 100mm fork for the HT?
Any ideas welcome???
Thanks
Adam

The Trek would work fine at 100mm. But I think whatever you decide, get a Reba! For 200 quid or so you get a light, stiff multi adjustable fork that can be travel adjusted internally if need be.0

Cheers.
But where can you see them for £200?
They all seem to be £300 ish on t'internet?

Take a look at the Reba SL.2006 Giant XTC

Tis all the fork anyone reasonably needs for XC and trails.0

great, thanks guys.
So, in your humble opinons, the Magura is the better fork for the higher end FS bike?
Suits me, I love it, just wasn't sure whether I needed to go to SID territory as the frame is so light.
All this for normal XC riding. No hills in EssexTrek 8500 w/ Singlespeed Conversion - http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1697041/

Dont know much about Magura, not used one for years, but I understand it was well reviewed. If you like it, then thats all that matters!
The Reba SL weighs 3.55lbs - the new SIDS 3.2lbs, and the SID race 2.9lbs. Its lighter as it uses simpler internals. However the older SIDS really are a racers fork as are very flexy.0
