I am not in the market for a new bike and therefore my knowledge is not based upon a deep researched base, but more on a general awareness of what friends ride and comments from them. I note that the cycling media like Focus bikes and seem to avoid Ribble. Perhaps, Wiggle are more cooperative in providing test bikes. But, equally, I like the attitude and style of Planet X. Their web site appeals to my instincts - honest guys trying to do the right thing for cyclists. Perhaps I have been conned by good spin. I have a couple of friends who ride the carbon Planet X and rate it highly. So, my decision - the Planet X, but largely becase I know so little about the Ribble and I do not trust a journalist to recommend a Focus.

Actually the Ribble Nero Corsa was rated very highly in the Xmas edition of Cycling Plus (204). It was the "winner" of they test they did -- compared to a Carbon Bianchi, Alu/carb Cinelli and Wilier Mortirolo.
    I like bikes...

Hi JWS, Deda design the moulds, test the frames and modify until they are happy with the product. They also select the materials and processes that are used.

A lot of work goes on behind the scenes and tube selection is very important as well as finding the right builder. We have met many builders over the years and it has taken a long time to get our frames were we want them. That said, we are never totally satisfied and believe no matter how good we think our frames are, there is always room for improvement and new ideas.

It will be carrot fibres next, they are much stronger than carbon.
