Giant SCR + SKS Mudguards - compatible?

I've been waiting months for a set of mudguards for a Giant SCR3W from the LBS as I was told that only the manufacturers guards fitted the frame properly (or at least well). Suffice to say that I'm getting a little tired of waiting and am wondering if regular SKS guards will fit without any serious chopping/changing.

Anyone with experience of this?

    They fit fine as standard but I trimming mine at the fork legs and rear brake bridge to allow the guard to move up into the highest mounting position possible. That's just me being fussy however so you will be fine so long as you don't go for the 35mm wide version !

    Cheers Andy, the other half got a soaking on Saturday and noticed that I was spotless so I thought I'd better sort something out ASAP seeing as it was a christmas present.

    The trimming that I did was very minor - just a couple of rubs with a semi-circular file on a set of standrad SKS 'narrow' guards so you shouldn't have any issues getting the other half sorted.
