Leaves and mush, hooray.

Hello everybody :)

I have a problem.

I ride a lot up my local woods, doing drops and stuff on my bike (Its an '06 Irohorse Yakuza Bakuto if you're interested).
Its very leafy up there, and the ground is very mushy on the new trail we are making. Its not wet, just spongey.
Anyway..

Every couple of runs, my chain starts jumping. Ive had a look and decided it is because the leaves and mud are filling up the gaps in between the cogs on the cassette. This means the chain cant sit on the teeth properly and it jumps. I can fix it temporarily by cleaning it out with a twig or the screwdriver on my multi-tool, but its annoying because i have to do it so often and nobody else seems to get this problem. My cassette is a SRAM PG-830, 11/32T, 8 SPEED, according to the internet.

Are there cassettes that arent so prone to mud/leaf filling?
Come to think of it, mine might be worn down a bit now (had the bike for almost a year, dont know how fast cassettes wear down)..

Suggestions/Advice please?

Thanks =]
