wrong way round shifters? newbie

Just taken delivery of a new Giant Anthem 3 2006 but on assembly i've noticed the rh shifter works the opposite way round to my XTC hardtail.When pushing the shifter it drops down the cassette and on pull goes up !!!!
We purchased two of these at the same time and they are both the same, is it possible to revert them to my prefered choice of shifting if so where do i need to work shifter/rear mech? shifters are deore and rear mech is LX

its your rear der thats different. top normal? you want a low normal rear der. or other way round :?


edit; its top normal you want. just checked, confuses me.

Thanks for reply if any body can tell me which it is i need top/low ? then its a trip to ebay probably upgrade to an xt at the time.

It's a buggers muddle. This is what you want http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=15113 It will go to a lower gear when you push with your thumb, and a higher gear when you release with your finger.
