Replacement fork for a lefty?

Any ideas on replacing a Lefty fork?
One interesting point is hub to frame distance on a lefty is 490mm for 140mm travel and i have some toras which are 450mm for 130mm of travel. Thats 40mm difference so...
Does this mean to put a conventional fork on instead of a lefty you'd need 160mm travel for the geometry to be correct? and on that note they're going to be for trail centre XC and we're going to alps in summer so thats quite a bit of travel for xc?
Any ideas on what forks, let me know! don't even know where to start. he meanwhile is constantly sending me links of fox vans from ebay - good starting point?
