I use it and it's fantastic. However, in reviews Memory Map normally comes out better and I've also heard of another (Tracklogs?) which is supposed to be good.

You might also want to have a look at Quo. Similar to the others that have been mentioned, but I found to be cheaper.

Tracklogs came out the winner in a recent Singletrack review, I use and find it quite good. I think Singletrack liked it so much because it sticks to Microsoft Windows ways of doing things and it is quite sophisticated.

I personally went for it because you can get the entire country in 1:25000 format, costs more in the long run but less each time you buy a bit more map.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

I haven't tried Anquet but I have both Memory Map and Tracklogs products.

I have the south of England 1:50,000 on Memory Map and find it a doddle to use, my only gripes are lack of 1:25,000 availability and you don't have that much control over the route marking (beyond dashed/solid, transparency and colour) meaning the the route often masks the map beneath. One big benefit is the little hack to allow you to print A3 maps rather than the OS limitation of A4

I also have my local area as a site-centered 1:25,000 map on Tracklogs. This software seems a whole lot harder to use, but more capable and flexible. That may be partly down to the fact that I learned MM first though! It also allows greater control over routes and tracks.

To be honest, I'd just go with the package which offers you what you want, at the least price! You should be more than happy with any of the packages.
