Wheel rebuild

I have a Bontrager Race Lite wheelset (see: http://bontrager.com/Mountain/Wheelworks/Wheels/5766.php). I'd like to have them rebuilt with DT Swiss XR 4.2d rims (which I've managed to track down in 28 hole), and probably DT Revolution spokes. Can anyone think of any technical reason why this wouldn't be advisable?

The Bonty website doesn't show any wheels pics, but IIRC bonty use DT Swiss hubs anyway, so rebuilding with DT spokes and rims shouldn't be a problem.
My only comment would be that lots of wheel builders prefer not to use Revolution spokes on the basis that they are very stretchy when tensioning up the wheel and make a far weaker wheel for the few grammes saved over DT Comps (1.5mm diameter vs 1.8mm diameter)."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -
That's a great help. Thanks.
They're re-branded DT 240s (I think), but they're 28 hole, which obviously limits my choice of rims. I can post some pics if it would help.
I take your point about Revolutions, especially as I plan to use the wheels for trail riding as well as cross-country.
I'll drop Merlin a line and see whether they'll do it for me, in spite of the fact that I'll have to source the rims from elsewhere.2007 Trek 8500:

Merlin sell the XR4.2d rims, so I would imagine they can order the 28 hole variant for you.0

Apparently not. I dropped them an e-mail a while back asking whether this would be possible, and they said only if the hubs were 32 hole. Perhaps I'll give them a ring and make absolutely sure before sourcing my own from elsewhere. It does seem odd that Merlin say they can't get them in 28 hole when Petra Cycles ( http://www.petracycles.co.uk/product_info.php?language=en¤cy=GBP&products_id=11995) apparently can. Mind you, they're the only place I've been able to find them in stock. It's all a bit puzzling, really.2007 Trek 8500:
