Why is Mountain Mayhem the ultimate event in the UK?

I took part in the Cheddar Challenge recently and someone told me that it was the oldest event in the UK from 1988. They also told me that Mountain Mayhem is the ultimate event. I've done day events but i'm up for a few weekenders this year.

    Not sure about the ultimate event all depends what you’re into! if that’s 24 hour racing then this would arguably be the premier event on our fair Island lots of stuff going on and the chance to try and keep up with the pro’s as they breeze round the course.

    Probably because it attracts over 2,000 riders and has the biggest expo of any enduro event in the UK. Plus it is the grand daddy of all the 24hr races in the UK.
