GoreTex: looking after it (washing)

Just a quick piece of advice on the best stuff to wash my PacLite Berghaus GorTex jacket in.
I have heard that a product called Technical Wash is good.

    Yep, Nikwax tech wash is the stuff to use. In the past I've also used pure soap flakes. There's tons of info on this topic on the Outdoors Magic website.

    I second the Nikwax tech wash.
    If you're going to wash the jacket in the washing machine then I believe that it is a good idea to run the machine through a quick cycle (no-pun intended) with it empty and no conventional detergent. This gets rid of the wetting agents from the other detergents and helps the waterproof keep it's water shedding properties.
    Or you could hand wash.......
