It's not that bad. But I wouldn't want to be wearing a black jersey whilst climbing an Alpine col in 30+ degree heat in July.

    Seems pretty ordinary to me.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

I kinda like it. Lack of argyle is always a positive.
You just have to ride like you never have to breathe again.

I'm not so sure on this, if the material is good quality it won't get so hot. I've ridden in black/grey and red colours and they were fine. At least they'll have black shorts, it'll look classic. If you were a rider, you'll be pleased it's not pink, sorry, magenta.

It beats pin...magenta. It's true black is not that bad for the heat, or we'd all be wearing white lycra shorts. But that logo is kind of... boring, no? It looks like it's been designed by Bob's 14 year-old niece who just got Quark off the net. That may be OK on a letterhead, but I'd have redesigned it if it was to be put across riders' chests. At least it's not light blue, and the supposed clean team becoming the "men in black" has got to be worth something.
  • Fingers crossed Bob finds a sponsor so we don't have to look at that all season heh

At least it's not white/blue or some combination of, like just about every other Pro team!

I thought they had lost Giant as a sponsor? - The logo is on the jersey.

No - Giant are sticking with them.

The only one insane enough to chance it.

I like it - not keen on the logo but the jersey is nice - doesn't look like it's been designed by a committee like most jerseys do.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
  • Bikes are going to be black as well.... Giant should be pleased. Who wants a pink bike...!

At first glances it looks a bit like an Ospreys Jersey.

  • Apparently it's only a training jersey according to Hammond after the National Cross today.

They'll be unveiling their new kit for the Tour of California, so not sure what they'll be riding in at the TDU. Also it seems they're going to be using different kit in different races, I suppose that opens the way to bringing in sponsors specifically for one race e.g. The Tour.

Oh and the black looked quite good during the cross today, though it's VERY hard to see the High Road logo during a race.

In his winner's interview at the Cyclo Cross Nats yesterday, Roger Hammond said that the black design was only for winter training and that we should "watch this space" for the final design. Also there will apparently be various designs for events in different countries.

  • Does anyone know which bike he was on for the cross? Saw a pic but couldn't make out the brand...

    Thanks.

It was an Evans bike, not sure about what model or anything like that though.

    Thanks.

I managed to get a few photos of yesterday's race and, looking at them, I'm fairly certain it was a Ridley.
