I,ve been using my bike lately on the roads and was wondering what i could use to protect it from the salty grit and muck ect .
I clean it straight away but sometimes i cant and just wondered what would be a good repellent if there is one ?.

I just give her a good clean and then wax - I use muc-off miracle shine but I guess any good car wax would work as well. The dirt doesn't seem to stick after this. Also on the down tube I've put Sports Cover Bike Shield Frame Protector (long thick plastic strip) to protect against stone chips.0

Wrap it in old inner-tubes and lash them on with cable ties.0

I use Muc-off Bike Spray http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=cycle&ProdID=4000000325&N=Muc-Off%20Bike%20Spray%20Lubricant%20500ml%20Aerosol Lubricates and leaves a dry PTFE film on the bike to stop mud / stuff from sticking.0

I use an aerosol car wax spray, seems to work quite well, often spray it into a rag and then apply (don't want to get it anyway near discs or pads). When cleaning, the water bobbles up nicely and the mud seems to wash off more easily so I assume even if I left the crud to dry it would still come off. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -
