will this frame fail?
hi, please see pics of front fork and rear chainstay and give me an opinion of whether this frame should be condemnedhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/90003308@N00/2163864784/in/set-72157603625820243/ the marks only seem like laquer chips but i am concerned about the integrity of the carbon. it was delivered like this and is the last in the shop so if the frame is ok i will be after some more money off. if not it'll have to go back, which is a bit of a bugger as i've waited ages for it.

Looks like laquer chips, but you haven't a clue how they have been done.... get back to shop, get it checked out, get some cash off, then touch it up !0

They're nothing to worry about, worth getting a bit of money off though.
Hypocrisy is only a bad thing in other people.0 -

thats what i thought, saved £1k on the bike and if i can get a few more bob back then great, its sooo light, and seems a good deal.0

Yes agree with the others looks like nothing too bad - if you can get a few quid off great but if it was already reduced then I wouldn't expect too much - worth trying though.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -
That would count as normal shop wear - considering the saving you made on the frame I'd be happy with your lot. Apply some clear nail varnish over the chips to seal them and just get out and enjoy it.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I'd advise against nail varnish.
I don't know why but on some occasions it seems to leach into the surrounding laquer making a horrible whiteish mess as if its reacted & making that area brittle.0 -
I rang Condor to ask if car retouch finishing lacquer would be OK - they said yes so I have tried it - no ill effects as far as I can see.0
