Great news for Bagneres de Luchon (and ourselves), in addition to the Tour passing by on the 13th of July (Toulouse - Bagneres de Bigorre) the "Tour du Sud Cycliste" has just announced a stage finish at Superbagneres on Saturday the 21st of June. Previous guests from HWCC can testify just how challenging this climb will be at the end of a gruelling day especially the last 5k of this 19k climb from Luchon.

Why don't you just list your prices, or better still, take out a banner ad?

I doubt you've offended anyone really.

Is Superbagneres the dead end climb you turn onto at the top of the Peyresourde?

I wasn't offended, just amused by your crafty advert. Just visit the training section and it's full of people selling their services anyway.

Is the "Tour of the Sud" the same as the old "Route du Sud".

Not sure if this helps Andy, but second half of this you tube clip shows the climb to Superbagneres http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je1v0E_e ... re=related

No that turning takes you to the ski station of Agudes which is one of the two stations of Peyragudes (Agudes and Peyresourde).

The Superbagneres climb starts basically at the edge of Luchon by the famous Thermes and then travels along the vallee du Pique before crossing the river and heading up the first part of the Vallee du Lys before the climbing starts up to Superbagneres. This is a beautiful climb in good weather with fantastic scenery but as ever the cloud and bad weather can roll in.

It is the last 5k where it can hurt as three of the last 5k's are 9%.

The full title is the "Route du Sud Cycliste". The Marie of Luchon is putting up the money for the finish as a test to hopefully gain approval for a finish for the 2010 Etape du Tour.

Fingers, legs and everything else crossed as this will be fantastic for Bagneres de Luchon if it comes off.
