Hi guys. I want to get a new stem for my DH bike and cannot decide between the two. The Sunline is a bit cheaper and actually lighter!(and i read Doddys runing one on his Socom  ) The Thomson is know to be very stiff and strong and is a proven performer.

Whats do you guys think would be the stiffest and strongest for DH? Any previous experiences would be great!

must say having a look at the V1 it does look nice, even though i'd have said the thomson, the v1 bars where recommended on another forum recently, and the athertons use them.

plenty of places also seem to be doing the x4 on the cheap at the mo
  • I've been running a 90mm Thompson 4X for a while and is is a beauty to look at, strong stiff and light, I'm not sure what more you could want from a stem (Merlin £47)

The sunline does look really nice, however the finish on the thompson is far superior
