Im a little torn between two sizes and wondered if anyone out there is a smaller rider like me - Im 5' 7" and was wondering what size frame you opted for?

  • you're a 52cm. but i haven't got a focus.

what sizes did you think you were between?
  • If you dont have one thats not much help

Im normally a 52cm but like a shorter top tube too hence i was consdiering the 50cm.

The joys of buying via mail order eh?
  • seriously, i don't have one but was looking at one for my girlfriend ... which is trickier because of a female proportions ... so i know the geometry. assuming your male (from your name!) you're almost definitely a 52cm.

Will they change the stem if the fit is not quite right? no disaster if they don't, just ebay it and buy another stem

Again i don;t own one, but if Focus sizing is anything like Trek (?) then a 52cm would do the job.

My gf is 5ft7, but with quite a long body, and her 52cm Trek 1000 is perfect.

I thikn you can send the bike back to wiggle within 7 days if your not happy though anyway.

  • Ah i see!!!

Its no disaster as theres not alot in it assuming its not too big that is.

Someone else commented that the Cayo frames seem a little big and wished he'd opted for the next size down.

For what it is i may just opt for the smaller frame to be on the safe side. Like you say i can always switch out the stem and seatpost - its no big deal.

I'd say they actually run slightly small. The 54 has a TT of 543mm which is 5mm shorter than Specialized, and the 56 a TT of 555 which is 1cm shorter than Specialized.

    Geometry
    Size A B C D E F G H I J
    XS/50 500 525 71.25° 74.3° 410 70 110 370 39 976
    S/52 520 537 72° 74° 405 70 115 370 39 974
    M/54 540 543 72.5° 74° 405 70 135 370 39 975
    L/56 560 555 73.5° 73.5° 405 70 150 370 39 974
    XL/58 580 570 73.5° 73.5° 405 70 170 370 39 995
    XXL/60 600 582 73.5° 73° 405 70 190 370 39 1000
  • I plumped for a 52cm in the end - fingers crossed its right!!!

If not im guessing the smaller 50cm size wont sell out too quickly.....

Thanks for the comments and advice
