Apologies, too much lurking and not enough posting (which some would say is a good thing  ). I'm back at work but full of good intentions (like working when I'm at work rather than in here, give it a week).

Talking of good intentions 3 days in and the diet is still on track (although there is a mountain of Christmas chocolate left which may cause it to derail :( ). went out on New Years Day (got soaked, loved it) and have put in half an hour on the exercise bike for the last two nights which is incredibly boring but makes me feel very smug after the event  .

Lost over 2 Kg in 3 days (or possibly the bathroom scales are a tad inaccurate  ).

Anyone else still on the wagon?

Extreme snow commuting today, wish I hadn't taken the subway (carrera). Coming into work, i turn the bars and the bike continues, crash occurs. How silly! Really should've realised slick tyres were a bad idea. Patriot for commute tomorrow :)
  • I am hardcore.....i'll be on the Motorbike if it snows.....see if i can crash this one on snow...crashed all the others on snow..it would be rude not to continue the trend :D

Each morning this week I have eaten an apple and a banana. I have kept the little sticker thing you get and put it in my work diary, my aim is for at least 2 stickers a day!

You know what they say about 5 a day !!!

With innocence smoothies 250ml = 2 portions of fruit, thats the way I keep on top of the fruit intake! Can't beat a good apple or banana too mind.

But then they sure aren't cheap! If you buy a smoothie maker you can get the same results for a lot less. Plus innocent list the exact ingredients on the back of the carton.

I have a blender and make all manner of concoctions - hell of a lot cheaper as well!

I just tend to make one with pure OJ, banana and strawberry (the frozen variety that keeps ion the fridge) - nice :D
  • God's, I can't believe you are all thinking about smoothies!

Now is the season for homemade soups not smoothies!

Carrot and coriander is a current fave, loads of good veg, not too fattening and warm!

And I'm still kidding myself that the currants in the christmas cake count as fruit and make the whole thing "healthy".

Not yet mate, thanks for asking though :D

The above 3 bits leave me with only grips, saddle, inner tubes and tyres to buy.

I'm not going to ring up about the frame till the back end of this month - I think it'll seem like ages if I start to ring them up and ask?

Well, since you're asking, I think that's pretty damn contraversial!

just to let you know, people only eat bananas because they like the shape, i cant stand the things, but banana mikshakes, (especially if they dont contain any actual banana) are gorgeous. also, women should be made to eat them with a knife and fork. (bananas that is, not milkshakes, you would need a spoon for that)

gt, get on the phone, if you dont they might forget about it

ps, my new x.0 gripshifts just turned up, yipeeee
  • Cool - let us know how you get on with the gripshifts- full report expected!

well, just fitted them, took about 45 mins and that was only because i was fittng them in the same way as the shimano set ups i'm used to (you have to be alot more precise). wth the sram kit, you just get the wires in and its already indexed for you, i cant believe how easy it is.

they look ace (pics will be up when the camera is charged up) and it means that i can fit the big orange button close enough to the grips to be able to use it wthout moving my hand, plus the brake lever can be moved far enough away to make it perfect for one finger braking. all this for 39.99

i need some new grips though, but i love bike parts shopping!! this might turn out to be one of the best saturdays ever!!
  • So come on cheesy....what's the new top 10 thread going to be? Best smoothies?
