orbea aqua - your opinions
i have been plugging away on a MTB for a few years, but given that i ride mostly on roads i've decided it is about time i switch to a road bike. it'll be used mainly for training witjh some commuting and longer leisure rides.
i have seen an orbea aqua for £600 (down by £200) in my local bike shop, (not sure which model, it has a full 105 drive train,) it looks stunning, and seems to have a good spec. for the price.
i cant seem to find many reviews of this bike/frame, do you think it would be suitable for my needs?
thanks in advance for any replies.

Welcome to the Forum.
I have the Orbea Vitesse and until last year it was my 'good' summer bike. I like orbea's you get a good frame for your cash(and the components too) which is good enough to upgrade as cash come available.
The Aqua I think you may be getting is the 2007 special edition that comes with 105 and the frame is the same which is on my Vitesse but my bike came with Ultegra. Long story short - It is a steal for this price. It is more than capable for what you have in mind - this bike is race worthy. I have had my Orbea all over France doing the big climbs in the Tour - which it coped with perfectly.
I have had my Vitesse for four years now and it is still a great bike. Very responsive and quick on the hills. All you would need to do some time in the future is upgrade the wheels(the aqua comes with shimano 105 wheels - ok starting wheels but not the lightest or strongest) sometime in the future and you will really have a great bike.
Hope this helps
P.S. My 105 wheels lastest 2 years with a lot of abuse.Brian B.0 -

If its for training/commuting - make sure you can get decent guards on it. Makes it much more pleasant.0
