Handlebar and Stem Combination?

I'm currently building my own bike, I've decided on all the components bar the handlebar and stem combination.
Ideally I want matching bars and stem, wing/flat tops look interesting but are they quite stiff compared to normal section bars?
I'm looking at spending a max of £70 for both. Any recommended bars and stems?

you can pick up Deda newtons s/hand for not much money and they're lovely stems. The ITM 4Ever is also well made.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Cinelli Vai stuff gets well rated in magazines and seems like a real bargain. I've just put a Vai stem on an old MTB I'm converting for road use and it seemed great for the money.0

If you are after value then the Ritchey Comp bars and stem are great. I've got them on my winter bike and they work well. The bars have got a good shape. Chain Reaction Cycles have got them for £15 each reduced from £30.0

+1 for the deda newton bars.
i'd actually recommend going for their zero stem with steel bolts if you want to keep the cost down. cheaper and just as light as newton (cheaper and lighter if you fit Ti bolts as an aftermarket change)0 -
Latest FSA 099 stem is a beaut - Ti bolts too. See Chain Reaction in their mountain bike stem section although this is a road stem too. Bargain price of about 30 quid. Wing section bars are good - recently got some USEcarbon ones (cheap!) and they are extremely comfortable if you like to ride with your hands/wrists on the top of the bars.0
